During the media engagement session held at Chatonda Lodge, Moffat Phiri, a citizen engagement manager at CSAT, addressed the importance of including community journalists in the five-year project funded by USAID and Democracy International. He said, "This project started in October 2023 and is now in its second phase. The main aim is to mobilize civil society, engage, and capacitate them on access to information regarding the Parliamentary Support Program project and how they can add value in disseminating information about the project." Man arrested for murder in Nkhata Bay

Man arrested for murder in Nkhata Bay Police in Nkhata Bay District, have arrested Buma Manda 41, on allegations that he took part in the brutal killing of Chikhulupiliro Chilora aged 32, at Chitheka trading centre in the district.  According to the deceased’s wife, her husband on August 15, 2024, left home for Chitheka trading centre where he wanted to withdraw cash through airtel money. He travelled by his personal motor bike. Upon arrival at the mentioned trading centre at around 17:00hours, he was attacked by some middle aged men who carried weapons. They beat and stabbed him and he became unconscious.  Chilora died later at Nkhata Bay District hospital where he was rushed to for treatment. The matter was reported to Mzenga Police Unit where investigations were launched leading to the arrest of the suspect on October 1, 2024. He has since been charged with murder. Teacher arrested for having sexual intercourse with a form one student Police in Chimwala, Mangochi have arrested a 33-year-old Teacher at Chiunda Community Day Secondary School(CDSS) for having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old form one student. The suspect has been identified as lsaac Mathipa from Kalembo village, Traditional Authority Kalembo in Balaka. It is alleged that on September 30, 2024 around 2:00pm the suspect who was on his motorcycle encountered the victim within Njaidi village while she was returning from her friend's place. The suspect offered her a ride since both were going towards the same direction. However, on arrival at the victim's place the suspect cruised with her to his house claiming that he wanted to give her some books to study promptly took her to his bedroom and forced himself on her.
